District of Columbia (D.C)

Electric: Electricity choice is available statewide for ALL consumers.
Licenses: Electric – Aggregator/Broker of Electricity for residential, commercial, and industrial customers under order EA -2015-01

Florida

Natural Gas: 

  • Natural Gas choice is available statewide for commercial and industrial customers; however, volume requirements differ between utilities.
  • Natural Gas choice is available for residential customers at Central Florida Gas; election of a natural gas supplier is allowed during a limited annual window.

Licenses: Natural Gas – State License Not Required

Georgia

Natural Gas:  Natural Gas choice is available in the AGL utility territory.
Licenses:  Natural Gas – State License Not Required.

Illinois

Electric:  Electricity choice is available for consumers.
Natural Gas:  Natural Gas choice is available for consumers.

Indiana

Natural Gas:

  • Natural Gas in the Vectren utility is available. Minimum requirements is 5,000 Dth/year.

Kansas

Natural Gas:

  • Natural Gas choice is available for residential and small commercial consumers in the Columbia Gas utility territory. Minimum usage is 25,000 Dth per year.
  • Natural Gas choice is available for residential and small commercial consumers in the Columbia Gas utility territory. Atmos Kentucky minimum is 25 Dth per day.
  • Natural Gas choice is available for residential and small commercial consumers in the Columbia Gas utility territory. Louisville G&E minimum is 41 Dth per day.

Michigan

Electric: Electricity choice is available in the Consumers Energy and DTE Energy utility territories, but consumer participation is capped at 10% of the utility’s previous year sales.  Currently, there is a queue of consumers seeking to switch to a competitive supplier.
Natural Gas: Natural Gas choice is available in the Consumers Energy, DTE Energy, Michigan Gas Utilities, and SEMCO Energy Gas Company utility territories.

Missouri

Natural Gas:  Natural Gas is available to consumers.

Nebraska

Natural Gas:

  • Metropolitan Utilities District – 10 Dth minimum requirement per day.
  • Northwestern Energy – 10 Dth minimum requirement per day.
  • SourceGas – No minimum requirements.

New Hampshire

Electric: Electricity choice is available in the Public Service Company of New Hampshire (PSNH), Liberty, Unitil Energy Systems, Inc. (UES), and the New Hampshire Electric Cooperative, Inc. (NHEC) utility territories.
Natural Gas: Natural Gas choice is available for commercial and industrial consumers only.
